CHILDBIRTH CLASSES
CHILDBIRTH CLASSES
Why take a childbirth class?
Childbirth preparation is also parent preparation. Birthers were once surrounded by experienced elders as they birthed. Today most of us have never witnessed an actual birth aside from questionable netflix portrayals. In our culture birth is so often treated as a medical event or something that needs to be managed.
Our classes offer a foundation of confidence and preparedness in many formats to meet your unique needs.
We offer weeknight virtual classes. We also offer a one day in-person class. Our private childbirth class can be customized to meet your specific needs.
Having another baby? Explore our Birthing Again workshop!
Birth is a normal part of life rather than something to be feared.
Parents in our culture are expected to have a working knowledge of the medical labyrinth of birth, whether that birth takes place in a hospital, a birth center, or at home. The basics, like the physiology of birth and common medical practices, are an integral part of our Birthing From Within classes.
Equally important however, you’ll learn how to cope with the changing emotions that accompany this life altering experience. You’ll have the opportunity to experience a personal shift preparing you to walk into the unknown while staying connected to your inner resources and resilience. You’ll learn to keep going even when you aren’t sure what to do. You will cross the threshold into parenthood feeling more connected to your baby and your birth experience. If a partner is a part of your birth, they too will feel more prepared and connected.

Birthing Again Refresher Workshop
This 7-hour, two-session series is for parents who have taken any type of childbirth preparation with a previous birth. The first three hours is for birthing mothers only. The next day there will be a separate one-hour session for birth partners. These separate sessions help participants, both birthing mothers and partners, to gently unwind previous birth stories and prepare for a new and different experience, helping everyone view birth with a fresh perspective.
Immediately following the partner session birthing mothers will join for the remaining 3-hours. In the couples’ portion of class, birthing mothers and partners will dust off pain-coping skills and create time to focus on THIS birth and THIS baby. While learning ways to integrate the new baby into the existing family, we pay special attention to helping siblings with the transition.
Enjoy this time together as you take a breath and connect with your growing family.
COST: $200. The birthing parent may include one support person/partner at no additional charge.
Prefer a private session? Contact us to book your session for $300.

We took Pam's childbirth class when we were pregnant with our first child, feeling both excited but also nervous. We were provided an open environment to discuss everything from letting labor unfold, breastfeeding, and even what happens when things don't go according to our birth plan. We gained confidence in my ability to give birth as well as assurance that we could be the best parents for OUR baby. We stayed in touch for parenting advice, and she even attended the birth of our second child!"

Our time with Pam was truly special. We were part of such an intimate group of couples, some of whom are still friends today, 6 years on. It was a comforting, knowledge-filled environment to come to and helped allay many of the fears I had around natural birth. The beautiful wooden spiral pendant we were given accompanied me through the birth of my first son, supported me through a subsequent miscarriage and hung by my bed every night until and after we conceived and birthed my second precious baby boy. I still have it and it means a whole lot. Pam and Guina could not be a better choice to help guide and support others through this incredible time in their lives!"
